The MRT ‘Love’ Story *Part Seis*

*its cold, my heaters not working and i feel i should just stick on and write more*

So the days went by and A would sometimes meet MT on the train, he was still shy and had a really fragile pride after that being-dumped-without-even-dumped-thingie from his first love. So he never ever dared to ask her to meet on a regular basis… and even when he tried to get her telephone number it was after the VERY STUPID AND OBVIOUS egging on he had from his bozo friends.

And it caught on fast amongst A’s silly band of brothers, and now they had a new moniker for A’s love interest…this time being SIEW MAI, coz erm A very casually likened her to a sweet little siewmai small and dainty and totally delicious…. much to his horror coz you see A had a huge friend who had a fucking loud voice, EW, and he always ALWAYS never failed to scream ” EH A your SIEW MAI IS THERE!!!” when wah lau MT was within earshot… and well basically it caused much distress and embarassment to both of them.

So aniwaes one day after his friends advice, he went up to her and asked her for her number, and she just managed a very shy…”hey just get it from F, F has it” and smiled and turned and hurried away with her friends… and then A was like jeered by all his friends who were looking VERY INDISCRETELY in the open.

So well he got her number from F, and proceeded to call her that night…and they talked and here comes the stupidest thing you should know about A, he’s a complete idiot, because whatever MT said she liked…which was exactly whatever A liked, he said he hated it, or jeered at it or said it was silly, when actually deep down he was like totally emphathising and feeling gaga over how similiar their likes were, but well he just very categorically dismissed everything, and ohmigod, he even pretended to be drunk during one of their tele-conversations so as to project a very cool and James Dean-ish kind of image to her… BADBOY act… total complete fool he was… !

so well, he managed to get a date with her, to watch “DEEP IMPACT” and boy was he overjoyed when she said yes.. and he was even early for the date..he totally prepped himself, stole his dad’s perfume, and went out nice and preemed to perfection.

So they watched the show, and all the time, his mind was just on “how to hold her hand, shit how to hold her hand, have to hold her hand..ahhh !”

But well he never did…

Fast forward to next date… Ponderosa at Tampines Mall, they ordered food, and he paid the food and left tips. She asked “why did u leave tips, there’s already service charge” A, in a very gungho way”Oh, tats what my dad always does” to project a very well-to-do image… LIKE SHIT, his dad being the accountant that he is, would calculate to the very last dollar that the bill would be and sternly admonish any unlucky waiter who had brought the wrong bill, incidentally it is also why A had such a great knack for mental arithmetic, his dad would challenge him with calculating bills or receipts from grocery stores every single time they went out…it was indeed a rather stressful yet thrilling ‘childhood’ with his dad..

Well aniwaes, beyond the digression, A ‘sent’ MT home after dinner, it was ‘sent’ coz he had no car and he just took the bus together with MT to her place which was like just 15 minutes walk from his place, and then as she was about to step into the lift (aha! not elevator you blardy americans!) A reached in and grabbed her hand and rather ungentlemanly yanked her out from the lift and said.. “hey, why don’t we take a walk in the park”

You see there really wasnt a park, it was just like some joggin path around the stadium that was in front of the place she used to stay in but hey, the crux here was that he held onto her hand and then he manage to wriggle his hands and actually hold her hands just like a couple would and they walked around for what seemed to be complete bliss to him at that time!

But then came the utter bomber… MT said “hey isn’t this too fast?” well it was on retrospect, it was only like the freaking second date but to which A replied “no…erm…because my prelims are coming and soon it’ll be my A levels and then i will be off to the army…” to which MT said “erm… ok… i tink i really have to go home now because i tink my parents can see us from here” so they walked back briskly and she went in to the lift and waved bye and smiled at A.

And after the lift door closed A jumped up in joy and was so fucking happy he ran all the way home to call his mates, BK and KL with the three way calling thingie tat was so hip then and told them all about it.

Fast forward a few days later, IL, a good friend of A too, came over and said “I tink ML likes MT too, coz that time after we hung out at ….”

Character intro:

THAT was like the total killer to A, his whole fucking heart sank. Up against ML, he was nothing… not even like worth like a shit to the ground he was perhaps just like a speck of dust, useless dust….

Fastfoward a few days, he heard some news that ML actually dated MT out alone, he was dumbstruck…he was totally shattered, and trust me, when A is shattered, he literally shatters himself, he wen ton drinking binges with J and smoked and just basically felt sorry for himself, he is just so pathetic.. and here comes MY… who patted him on the shoulder one day at the bamboo garden and gave him a sweet…

And then J said “hey i tink she likes you” And there, a diabolical scheme hatched in A’s mind….

A thought, “well i shouldnt be like the stupid fool tat i was in year 1, to be totally outplayed by a gal, i’m gonna court MY and then flaunt around the fact tat i have a new gf in front of MT.” And he realli did tat, tat fucking silly jerk really did tat. HE just simply totally ignored MT, i mean not tat MT called him or anything, he just walked the other way if he saw her approaching and he started taking the realli late 645 train and started skipping classes blah blah blah…

It was a matter of protecting his fragile male ego…
And so began the relationship between A and MY, which ended because of another silly story, and which ends this fucking silly MRT Love story.
